"A letter from The ACPA Chairman…"

Dated: 15th December 2008

"Dear Members of ICEA

As some of you may be aware ACPA has been supporting and maintaining the ICEA web site on behalf of the ICEA Membership for some time.

Some of you may also be aware that the ICEA Admin has, for a number of years, been finding it difficult to “keep up” with their existing obligations to the wider Membership.
This situation was brought to my attention over one year ago by some of our senior ACPA Members, who are also ICEA Members, and were concerned at the lack of activity within ICEA.

ACPA, as a body, took the unprecedented step of assisting the ICEA Membership by providing them with their own web site, whilst at the same time I personally made an approach to both the ICEA Chairman, and the ICEA Directors explaining to them the concerns of their Members. To date I have received no reply, and more recently I was informed that all the ICEA statutory filings are now overdue with Companies House in the UK.

Despite the seriousness of the situation the ICEA Membership seems to have been abandoned by the ICEA Corporate Body, and many Members are now concerned that their hard-earned Accountancy Qualifications are now in jeopardy, and they risk loosing their Professional Status as Qualified Accountants.

It is my purpose, in writing this letter, to assure you all that ACPA will continue to honour our pledge that we will continue to grant full appropriate exemptions to all ICEA Members and Students for the foreseeable future. I also pledge that we will continue to fund and support the new ICEA web site for as long as it serves a purpose to the wider ICEA Membership.

Respectfully Yours

Robert Collings

ACPA & ACCEA Chairman"
